Not Fade Away Nominated for Choice Music Award
The Choice Music Prize was established to highlight those albums which deserve some extra time in the spotlight and, ultimately, to select the album which best sums up the year in Irish music. A panel consisting of 12 media professionals, representing Irish print, radio and TV from the four corners of the island, select the Choice Music Prize shortlist containing 10 albums released by Irish acts for the very first time in any given calendar year. Instead of using sales or airplay as criteria, the Choice Music Prize judges focus, simply and solely, on the music. The shortlist is announced in January each year, with the judges meeting to select the winning act at the Choice Music Prize live event on Feb.28th. More details at www.choicemusicprize.com

A Month of Sundays
A month of sundays is a collaboration between the Model Arts and Niland Gallery in Sligo and dj and filmmaker Donal Dineen. Leaving the radio studio behind, the Model has invited Donal to take up residence each Sunday in November and present on stage his Small Hours Picture Show. This will include live performances from musical acts specially selected by Donal, with slideshows and music video clips in between. These acts will be invited into new collaborations with Donal and each other making each night a truly unique experience for all involved. "All of the acts I've invited to play have at some stage been an inspiration to me. Opportunities to actually collaborate don't come around that often however, which is where the Model comes in. It'll be a festival's worth of music spread out over four weeks" a month of sundays is an opportunity to experience some of the best contemporary musical talent through the vision and passion of one of Ireland's most influential dj's in the surrounds of one of Ireland's leading contemporary centres.
